Mat Pilates has exploded since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. As studios were forced to close their doors, many Pilates instructors made the switch to offering online Mat Pilates classes (myself included). Now Pilates practitioners across the world are more acclimated to the Mat work than ever before!
As we approach the beginning of March, the annual March MATness movement is upon us and I have a feeling we'll be seeing record numbers of participation this year! For those unfamiliar with March MATness, it's a way for the global Pilates community to come together to celebrate Joseph Pilates's Mat work every day in the month of March. Each day has an assigned Pilates Mat exercise (sometimes 2 exercises in a day), and thousands of Pilates enthusiasts post a photo, video, or artistic tribute to the day's exercise on social media. To find out more and to jump into the fun, head to www.marchmatness.com.
Another great thing about the Mat work is that it can often provide quick and easy content for social media (especially during March MATness!). With this very special time of year in mind, I wanted to take a moment to sing the praises of Mat Pilates, and highlight my top 10 Mat Pilates exercises I find to be the most photogenic in just about any environment. When it comes to showcasing your brand, studio, or Pilates services, having the right images is essential! These Top 10 photogenic Mat Pilates exercises have always been winners when looking back through the thousands of images I've taken over the years of Pilates Mat classes.
